Abstract:
Clinical verification of the pathogenesis in respect of fifty-eight
lesser known drugs as available in various reference books has
been carried out on a number of patients. The drugs selected for
the programme include indigenous drugs (in use in the Ayurvedic
system of medicine) and drugs proved under the aegis of the
Central Council for Research in Homoeopathy, New Delhi. The
symptoms of various drugs verified in large number of patients have
been picked up to indicate reliable indications of the drug, fulfilling
the long felt need of confirming the scanty and scattered
symptom-complexes of the lesser known drugs.
The additional symptoms obtained during the course, the drug(s)
were verified upon the patients have also been compiled, thereby
broadening the spectrum of pathogenesis of these drug(s).
Certain surrogates among the indigenous drugs have also been
observed, such as Abroma augusta folia for Bryonia alba, Cassia
sophera for Rhus- tox, Aegle folia/marmelos for Nux vomica, etc.
