Title: Iron Deficiency Anaemia
Other Titles: Study Conducted By CCRH
Keywords: Clinical Research
Issue Date: 2004
Citation: CCRH Quarterly Bulletin Vol 26 (3)
Abstract: Iron deficiency is by far the commonest cause of anaemia specially in areas where hookwarm infestation is endemic. About 20% of women, 50% of pregnant women, and 3% of men are iron deficient. Inadequate diet is also the main cause of this disease. It is due to mal-absorption of Iron from intestinal mucosa. Homoeopathic medicines like Calc. carb., Ferr. Phos, Gelsimium, Kali carb., Natrum mur., Pilsatiilla and Phosphorus have improved absorption of iron taken as supplement from the food rich n iron. The study was conducted at Regional Research Institute for Homoeopathy, New Delhi for five years, in which 223 cases were studied.
