Abstract: Glycyrrhiza glabra is a lesser known drug in Homoeopathy. Council had conducted a thorough proving and subsequently a multi-centric clinical verification study was conducted to verify the drug pathogenesis. It has been found that Glycyrrhiza glabra is a very useful medicine for various clinical conditions like vertigo, pain in forehead, conjunctivitis, coryza, dry cough, blisters at corner of mouth, redness of uvula and tonsils, pain in throat, dyspepsia, gastralgia, constipaion, burning urination and diarrhea. Besides these, stomatitis, hoarseness of voice, anorexia, desire for chilies, pungent things, sweets, onion etc. And distributed sleep have also been relieved by this medicine and thus unfolding the vast area of its clinical application. A total 278 cases (140 males and 138 females) have participated in this study at various Institutes/Units under Central Council for Research in Homoeopathy to confirm the symptoms of Glycyrrhiza glabra, as mentioned in the homoeopathic proving of this drug carried out under the Council.
